I asked, "What should I paint?"
"Paint me a pig."
"Paint you a pig?"
"Yes."
"Ok."
Here it is. I love it! In contrast to the shark, the pig is indirect and coy. He (she?) is also silly and dirty.

BTW, I used neither models nor photos as a basis for these two paintings.
I've decided to become creative. Here's my first independent painting as an adult. I rather like it.
It started as a barracuda, but now I call it a shark. I wanted to do something dark and dangerous. The water's almost black. The ocean floor is clotted blood red. The fish is fast, thrashing and obviously aggressive.

Last night I ordered Thai food. I wanted something new, so asked about the Beef Balls, descibed in the menu as, "...beef balls in spicy sauce with vegetables." Mmm, some sort of spicy ground beef meatball dish, right?
me: "So, are the beef balls good?"
Thai lady: "Yes, if you can eat
spicy food."
me: "Yes. Great, I'll have an order of the beef balls, please."
Thai lady: "Ok. Half hour to 45 minutes..."
This conversation should have been:
me: "So, are the beef balls good?"
Thai lady: "Yes, if you can eat
testicles."
me: "D'oh!"
Guess what's now hiding in the non-descript white paper bag in the back of the fridge? Yes, I tried it before I realized the cruel reality. Yes, I deserve to be laughed at.
When I told this story at work, my friend Don responded that I should have sent it back, saying that I was allergic to nuts. Good one!
