Angry Duck Studio

This quickie is based on this photo of President Eisenhower. But the more I worked on him, the more he became Dubya. That's funny -- I picked Ike because I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, Why We Fight. But he's clearly not Ike.

Anyway, it's painted on one of my many 29" x 17" Ikea salvage boards. His jacket was intended to be a military green. I chose a 3 panel layout to waste space. The jagged red stripes on the left are an attempt to imply the flag from the original Ike photo. The sun on the right was an artifact of the scrapped painting that lies below this one. I could still see it under the whitewash and decided it deserved some screen time. So, it's completely random and inappropriate.

Anyway, he only took me about a half-hour. Not bad, I say.
