My Sketchy Self Image

I recently agreed to do another self-portrait, to be revealed to a forum of fellow painters on March 16. I did it last night, on a scrap canvas board that previously served as a palette. Most of the background is gold paint, which still shows through nicely. I'll probably tweak it slightly before the official reveal, but here it is now. Like it? |

Endangered Species

This big, expensive canvas was originally a ballerina painting, recently started. But it wasn't interesting enough, so I made this instead. I painted it vertically, marking randomly then connecting the parts, here and there. Lastly, I painted the rhino, using the left over crap on my palette. He's located where he is, squeezed for space, facing downward, because that's all the room I could spare for him. Hey, adapt or die, right? This painting also works as a landscape, a bit abstracted, perhaps. |
